By accessing and using Family Tree Application, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions outlined in this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

Description of Service

Family Tree Application is a web-based platform designed for genealogy research, specifically focused on Polish parish records. Our service allows users to:

  • Digitally store and organize birth, marriage, and death records
  • Create and manage family profiles
  • Link family relationships
  • Visualize family trees
  • Collaborate with family members

User Accounts

Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use this service
  • One user account can only be associated with one family at a time

Account Security

  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

User Content

Ownership

  • You retain all rights to the data you enter into the system
  • By using our service, you grant us a license to store and process your data to provide our services
  • We do not claim ownership of your family tree data or uploaded records

Responsibility

  • You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide
  • You must have the right to share any information you upload
  • You must not upload content that is illegal, offensive, or infringes on others' rights

Data Accuracy

  • While we provide tools to organize genealogy data, we do not verify the accuracy of user-submitted information
  • You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of historical records and family relationships

Family Collaboration

Invitations

  • You may invite other users to join your family
  • Invited members will have access to shared family data according to their role (Admin or Member)
  • Admins can modify all family data and manage members
  • Members can view and export family data

Switching Families

  • You can only be a member of one family at a time
  • Switching to a new family will disconnect you from your current family
  • Data remains with the family, not with individual user accounts

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Use automated systems to access the service without permission
  • Upload malicious code or viruses
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Impersonate another person or entity

Intellectual Property

Our Property

  • The Family Tree Application platform, including its design, features, and functionality, is owned by us
  • Our trademarks, logos, and service marks are our property
  • You may not use our intellectual property without express written permission

Third-Party Content

  • Some features may include third-party libraries and open-source software
  • Such content is subject to their respective licenses

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose

  • Warranties that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

Termination

By You

  • You may delete your account at any time through the account settings
  • Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed according to our Privacy Policy
  • Family data may remain if other family members are still active

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these terms and conditions
  • Your account is inactive for an extended period
  • We cease operations of the service

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Poland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or use of the service shall be resolved through:

  1. Good faith negotiations between the parties
  2. Mediation, if negotiations fail
  3. Courts of competent jurisdiction in Poland

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
